NM 502 Repaving Project Begins Saturday Sept. 11

NMDOT News:

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) along with Albuquerque Asphalt Inc. will begin a pavement rehabilitation project Saturday, Sept. 11 on N.M. 502 in Los Alamos.

The 4-mile project from mile marker 2 to 6 is expected to last 15 working days and will include new pavement and striping.

Crews will work 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays on the Main Hill Road section, which will be closed during working hours, and traffic diverted onto the truck route.

STATEWIDE – During the Labor Day weekend, the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) participated in the Combined Accident Reduction Effort (C.A.R.E.) operation across all roadways within the state.

Work on the Los Alamos Canyon Bridge (Omega Bridge) is expected to be completed at the end of September – weather permitting.

Work on the bridge’s west side is expected to continue for about two more weeks. The crew is cleaning, painting and repairing the railings on the west side.

NMDOT: Get Home Safely This Labor Day Weekend

SANTA FE — As New Mexicans participate in Labor Day weekend activities involving alcohol, the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) and its partners are promoting a program to get people living in the Bernalillo County metro area home safely.

NMDOT is partnering with Bernalillo County, the City of Albuquerque, Cumulus radio stations and Uber to support the “Take a Ride on Us” program designed to combat drunk driving.

The program offers 1,000 participants an Uber credit of up to $10, two rides per person beginning noon Friday, Sept. 3 through 3 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7.

‘Blue Buses’ Not In Service On Labor Day Sept. 6

RTD News:

The North Central Regional Transit District (RTD) has announced that the RTD “Blue Buses” will not be in service Monday, Sept. 6, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. 

The exception will be the 255 RTD Mountain Trail to the Santa Fe National Forest, which will be in operation that day. 

The RTD provides fare-free bus service on 27 of 29 routes to a service area that encompasses more than 10,000 square miles of north central New Mexico including the counties of Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Santa Fe and Taos.
