Los Alamos County provides a weekly cone zone report detailing the latest updates on road projects around the community:

N.M. 502 Roundabout (State Transportation Dept., Star Paving)

Star Paving begins work Monday to complete the roundabout on the eastern edge of Los Alamos. N.M. 502 westbound traffic will be switched to a new westbound lane Monday. Work is estimated to wrap up within three months.

DP Road infrastructure for Canyon Walk Apartments (Bethel, Star Paving, TCSI, Qualcom)

Grand Canyon Road Construction Friday Through March 26

COUNTY News:

Beginning Friday through March 26, Kelly Cable in association with GM Emulsion, will cut into the asphalt and curb at 160 Grand Canyon as long weather permits.

The work will take place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and there will be a flagging operation in place on the south side of Grand Canyon.

The sidewalk on the south side of Grand Canyon will be closed, foot traffic will be detoured to the north side of Grand Canyon.

Motorists should slowdown in the work zone and follow all temporary construction signage.

Traffic Alert: Lane Switch Near Roundabout Begins Monday

Traffic Alert:

Star Paving has announced an upcoming lane shift that will begin Monday when crews return to complete the final work on the roundabout for N.M. 502 at the eastern edge of Los Alamos.  

N.M. 502 westbound traffic will be switched to a new westbound lane on Monday.

Motorists are asked to slow down and use caution.

Crews will be working in and along the roadway for the next three months to complete final work on the project.

Work Resumes On N.M. 502 Roundabout March 22

Roundabout News:

Star Paving is scheduled to return to Los Alamos in two weeks to complete construction of the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s roundabout project, on N.M. 502 just east of the intersection of Trinity Drive and Central Avenue.

Work will resume Monday, March 22 and is expected to continue for the next three months.

Final work on the project will involve road closures that include Canyon Road and Manhattan Loop for construction; however, access to residences and businesses will be maintained.

Atomic City Transit Begins Limited Fixed Route Service Monday March 1 For Routes 1, 2M, 4 And 6

Atomic City Transit announces plans for the phased re-opening of fixed-route public transportation in Los Alamos County beginning Monday, March 1. 

Phase-one will include fixed-route bus service for Routes 1 – Downtown, 2M White Rock to Los Alamos via Main Hill, Route 4 North Community and Route 6 North Mesa while continuing Dial-A-Ride service, all operating on reduced hours of daily service, approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
