Traffic Alert: Pavement Preservation Work On Canyon Road

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Traffic & Streets Division crews begin today, April 7, to conduct pavement preservation work along Canyon Road, from 15th Street to Diamond Drive, and Central Avenue from Oppenheimer to Canyon Road.  

This work is scheduled to continue through April  21. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on days when the weather and temperature are favorable.

A flagging operation will be used and pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle traffic are urged to use caution while traveling through this work zone.

Traffic Alert! Lane Shift To North Side Of N.M. 502 For Roundabout Project Starts Monday April 5

COUNTY News:

Beginning Monday, east bound traffic east of the roundabout will shift to the north side of N.M. 502 and channel back into the east bound lane in front of the Crossroads Church.

This is necessary to demo and build alignments on the remaining south side of N.M. 502. The traveling public is advised to exercise caution while traveling through this area.

Traffic Alert:

Motorists are reminded to slow down and exercise caution when driving on the truck route.

With the recent increase in vehicles using the truck route and vehicles turning at various points off the truck route, it is important for motorists to slow down and pay attention.

Of particular concern are reports lately of speeding vehicles nearly rear ending vehicles turning off East Jemez near the range entrance.
