U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Takes Steps To Protect Nation’s Supply Of Gasoline During COVID-19 Pandemic

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced Friday several steps the Agency is taking to protect the Nation’s gasoline supply in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

EPA intends to provide additional flexibility to the marketplace to transition from winter-grade, high volatility gasoline to summer-grade low vapor pressure gasoline.

Governor Orders Air Travelers To New Mexico To Self-Isolate

SANTA FE – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Friday issued an executive order requiring air travelers to New Mexico to self-isolate for at least 14 days to help combat the spread of COVID-19.

Air travelers who fail to voluntarily self-isolate will be subject to forced isolation or quarantine by the New Mexico Health Department, Lujan Grisham says in the order.

The majority of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in New Mexico have resulted from interstate and international travel into the state.

Water crews with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) are dropping the east northbound lane on Diamond Drive just past the Sandia intersection to repair a water transmission line. Traffic Alert: Waterline Repair On Diamond Thursday

Water crews with the Los Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will drop the east northbound lane on Diamond Drive just past the Sandia intersection to repair a water transmission line. 

Work is scheduled 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 26. No interruption of water services is anticipated. 

Motorists should expect some delays and are urged to use caution when driving near the construction zone.

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Transportation is introducing a new way to merge in New Mexico.

It is called a Zipper Merge.

It is a more efficient way for traffic to move through construction zones.

NMDOT And Contractor Agree To Suspend Taos Road Project

TAOS — The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) and El Terrero Construction, LLC, reached an agreement to suspend reconstruction work on U.S. 68/N.M. 64 for a two-week duration amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Suspension began Monday and will expire April 3. Work will begin again Monday, April 6.

This suspension is granted due to specification 107.20 that includes documented national unavailability of construction material and epidemic quarantine restriction. This is not intended for the contractor to restructure phasing.

RTD: 8 Routes Suspended/Modified Amid COVID-19 Outbreak

While continuing to provide an essential service during the COVID-19 outbreak, the North Central Regional Transit District (RTD) has identified eight of its 29 routes that will be temporarily suspended or modified beginning Wednesday, March 25.

The changes will be in effect until further notice.

Suspended Routes:

  • 400 Los Alamos;
  • 290 Edgewood; and
  • 305 Taos Express.

Modified routes include the 800 Angel Fire route, which will operate Monday through Friday only, no weekend service. Read More
