Fog Seal Project Date Changed To Thursday Oct. 24

COUNTY News:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the fog seal project in White Rock has been changed to Thursday, Oct. 24.
 
A GM Emulsion crew will start fog sealing beginning on Rover Boulevard starting at N.M. 4, continue toward Grand Canyon Drive and down Grand Canyon Drive starting at N.M. 4 to Meadow Lane. The crew also will work on Bryce Avenue, starting at Rover Boulevard to Meadow Lane.
 
Crews will be working 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Weather permitting, work should be completed by Oct. 24.
 
The contractor will set up a flagging operation allowing traffic to flow.

GM Emulsion will start fog sealing Friday, Oct. 18, beginning on Rover Blvd starting at N.M. 4 and continue toward Grand Canyon Drive.
 
Fog sealing is a light application of a diluted slow-setting asphalt emulsion to the surface of an aged (oxidized) pavement surface. Fog seals are used to restore flexibility to an existing surface.

Drivers Urged To Slow Down In N.M. 502 Construction

Los Alamos police officers are increasing enforcement efforts this week in response to safety concerns about drivers speeding through the N.M. 502 Road/Roundabout Construction Work Zone.
 
Note: Motorists are reminded that the work zone speed limit is 25 mph and fines double if a driver is ticketed within the zone.
 
Allow extra time and expect delays during peak commuter hours morning and evening, Monday through Friday.

Deacon Street Milling Project Begins Thursday

Deacon Street milling and pot hole repair project begins Thursday, Oct 10 and will continue Friday and be completed Monday, Oct. 14. Work will begin at 7:30 a.m. and finish at 3:30 p.m. each day.

A flagging operation will be utilized for this project. The parking lot next to El Parasol Restaurant drive-up will be partially closed. The first row of parking next to Deacon Street will be closed for parking so vehicles and customers won’t be harmed while the milling operation commences.
