Traffic Alert: Trinity Closure At DP Road Has Ended

Star Paving announced at 2:45 p.m. today that the Trinity Drive closure at DP Road that has been in place the last two weeks to install infrastructure has ended.

The eastbound lane has been returned to the former detour we had before the closure; motorists can take Trinity Drive to 4th Street, then after a full stop, turn right onto N.M. 502 to leave Los Alamos.

No need for motorists to detour off Trinity Drive over to Central Avenue via 15th Street or Knecht for those leaving work this afternoon. Read More

SANTA FE The New Mexico Department of Transportation announced Wednesday, 25 communities across the state will receive approximately $32.2 million in federal funding for 37 transportation and recreational trails projects.

Zozobra-Related RTD Bus Stop Closures On 255 Mountain Trail Route Through Friday

Preparations for this week’s Zozobra will impact two stops on the RTD Blue Bus’ 255 Mountain Trail route from downtown Santa Fe into the Santa Fe National Forest.
 
The bus stop on Murales Road at Fort Marcy Park will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 28 through Friday, Aug. 30. The bus stop at Washington and Federal will be closed Friday, Aug. 30.
 
Riders are encouraged to utilize one of the other downtown stops.
 
Park and ride options can be found at the South Capitol Rail Runner station stop off Cordova Road.

ALBUQUERQUE  The New Mexico Department of Transportation in continuing its work to ENDWI in the state, is partnering with Bernalillo County, the City of Albuquerque, Cumulus radio stations and Uber to support “Take a Ride on Us”.

Traffic Alert: Diamond Drive Reduced To One Lane Wednesday – Allow Additional Travel Time!

Traffic Alert:

Wednesday, Aug. 28, Diamond Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Alabama Avenue and the First Baptist Church south of 39th Street.

This will work will continue through the end of week to repair settling issues that had previously occurred on the southbound lanes.

All lanes are expected to be reopened Friday by the end of the day.

Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time.

Pedestrian detours will be in place and bike lanes will be closed on Diamond Drive within the work zones. Bicyclists and motorists are asked to share the road.

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) has announced that the RTD “Blue Buses” will not be in service Monday, Sept. 2, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

SFNF Issues Closure Order For Forest Road 376

SFNF News:

SANTA FE – The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) has issued a closure order for a segment of Forest Road (FR) 376 to accommodate work on a blocked culvert that poses a threat to public health and safety.

The closure order will be in effect today to April 1, 2020, unless it is rescinded earlier

The culvert is slated for replacement, but recent monsoonal weather patterns and the subsequent runoff and debris could lead to road failure and have made it an immediate public safety issue.

Los Alamos Police Department Conducts Traffic Enforcement Operation Through October

Continuing through the month of October, the Los Alamos Police Department will conduct traffic enforcement, focusing on accident related violations.

Officers also will be on the lookout for impaired drivers and conduct random DWI checkpoints throughout the County during this time frame.
