Sixteen New Mexico Airports Receiving Makeovers

SANTA FE The New Mexico Aviation Division would like to recognize the state communities that will receive more than $7 million in grant installments from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to revamp 16 airport runways throughout the state.
 
The three largest airport improvement projects will take place in Santa Teresa, Farmington and Hobbs. Ninety percent of these projects will be federally funded, the remainder will come from State and local government dollars.

Deadline For Public Comment On STIP July 19

SANTA FE The New Mexico Department of Transportation strives to engage the public and invites them to comment on the state’s adoption of the FY2020-FY2025 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).
 
The program will serve as the six year plan for the state’s proposed road, bridge and multimodal projects.
 
NMDOT has posted the 2020-2025 STIP plan online, to receive feedback on the federal and state highway projects, and other regional-specific projects taking place on local routes. The public is invited to share their comments online until July 19,

Road Striping – Los Alamos & White Rock:

Traffic and Streets Division crews continue striping local roadways to replace faded markings for traffic safety. Crews are working east on Trinity and east on Canyon/Central to East Road at the edge of Los Alamos. Once they have completed striping in Los Alamos, they will move to White Rock. National Park Service: Tourism To Fort Union National Monument Creates $830,000 In Economic Benefits

WATROUS A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 10,860 visitors to Fort Union National Monument in 2018 spent $740,000 in communities near the park.
 
That spending supported 10 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $830,000.

Trinity Drive Roundabout Detours Begin Wednesday!

Beginning Wednesday, June 12,  N.M. 502 (Trinity Drive) east-bound traffic will be detoured to 4th Street and Central Avenue.

After a full stop, motorists will be able to turn right (east) and travel through the construction zone to continue east-bound out of Los Alamos on N.M. 502.

Concrete Work On Broadview And Estates June 12-30

COUNTY News:

Crews will be placing new sidewalk on the east side of Broadview Drive.

The anticipated duration of construction is June 12 through June 30.

The new sidewalk will be from Estates Drive to San Ildefonso Road. New curb ramps also will be placed on the north and south sides of Estates Drive at the intersection with Broadview Drive.

Residents are urged to use caution around the crews and equipment.
