Pedestrians and motorists are to be advised that Central Avenue from Oppenheimer to 15th will be closed the morning of July 4 for the Y adult 5K run and then the children’s firecracker parade. Farmer’s Market will be OPEN at the library overflow lot July 4; market-goers are asked to use Rose or Canyon and access Farmer’s Market from the north side. Parking will be available for the market at the Betty Ehart Senior Center or the Fuller Lodge lot; both of these facilities are closed on the holiday. Read More

There will be a road closure 2-9 p.m. Thursday, July 4th at the end of Woodland Road adjacent to Club Road due to a family event and block party. 
 
Access to Woodland can be made by traveling up Arizona and cutting through Country Lane.
 
Please be advised that your route may take 1 minute longer, and there may be more children than usual running around the area.

Traffic Alert: Forest Road 289 Closed South Of Santa Fe National Forest Boundary

TRAFFIC ALERT: 

SANTA FE – Forest Road (FR) 289 is closed approximately 2 miles south of the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) boundary at the junction of FR 268 and FR 289.

Forest visitors who want to access the southeastern Jemez Mountains, including the Dome Wilderness, are advised to approach from the north, using N.M. 4, which intersects with the north end of FR 289.

FR 289 is open from N.M. 4 to the forest boundary, but the road is closed to through traffic on land owned by the Pueblo of Cochiti.

The SFNF will notify the public if the status of FR 289 south of the forest boundary changes. Read More

County: Public Presentation On Trinity Drive/N.M. 502 Improvements Related To Hill Apartments Tuesday

COUNTY News:

The public is invited to attend a presentation at 6 p.m., Tuesday on the Trinity Drive/N.M. 502 improvements associated with a New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) state grant for pedestrian and ADA improvements, NMDOT pavement preservation project and “The Hill” Apartments Housing Development.

This presentation will take place during the County Council meeting Tuesday in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 1000 Central Ave.

ALBUQUERQUE According to the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s (NMDOT) Traffic Safety Division, more DWI arrests and traffic violations occur during the summer months.
 
The 100 Days and Nights of Summer campaign began 10 years ago in an effort to reduce drunk and reckless driving during a 100 day span.
