NNSA: Eastbound NM 502 Traffic Reconfigured To Ease Impacts From Road Construction

NNSA News:

Traffic engineers are reconfiguring traffic plans on N.M. 4 and N.M. 502 to improve the rush-hour commute from Los Alamos during road construction activities.

Drivers may consider using Main Hill Road to leave LANL and Los Alamos for the next couple of weeks as today begins construction work between the intersection of East Jemez Road/N.M. 4 and N.M. 502. A pilot car will escort traffic between the two points during off-peak hours.

Engineers are planning today through Thursday to reconfigure lanes on N.M. 502 to ensure there are two lanes open for the afternoon commute from Los Alamos. Read More

Mud Slide Closes US 64 From Eagle Nest To Cimarron

NMSP News Alert:

Eagle Nest – State Police and the New Mexico Department of Transportation are working a large mud slide on US Highway 64 near Eagle Nest.

US 64 is closed from mile post 287 before Eagle Nest to mile post 309 in Cimarron. DOT is working to clear the roadway. There is currently no estimate of how long the closure will last.

Excavation Work Diamond To Range Road July 17-19

COMMUNITY News:

Cablecom, the contractor for Comcast, will be excavating to replace a damaged cable, which runs north from Diamond Drive 1,025’ to a CATV pedestal on the east side of Range Road.

Anticipated hours of construction are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 17-19. The north bound lane will be closed July 18 to excavate and intercept said cable and conduit. This will require a flagging operation. Motorists are urged to proceed with caution through this work zone.

North Mesa Improvements Phase II Begins Thursday

Attention North Mesa Residents (Cumbres del Sol Subdivision) … Star Paving will start construction activities Thursday, July 5 on the North Mesa Improvements Phase II Project.

Proposed improvements include roadway reconstruction, removal of surfacing, complete asphalt overlay, manhole adjustments, intermittent curb and gutter, sidewalks, drive pad replacement, landscape remediation and rigid electrical conduit installation on the following streets:

  • Camino Mora;
  • Camino Cereza; and
  • Camino Manzana.

Utility Work On Diamond Drive Saturday

DPU News:

Gas, water and sewer crews with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities will be excavating on the north side of Diamond Drive between 35 and 36 Streets to identify the location of, and if possible, complete repairs to a water leak.

This investigatory utility work will occur Saturday, June 30 only. Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane at the construction zone beginning at 7:30 a.m. and restored to two lanes by evening. Motorists can expect some delays.
