New Mexico State Police Respond To Possible Hazmat Spill … Interstate 25 Closed In Both Directions

NMSP News:

At around 4 a.m. today, New Mexico State Police officers were dispatched to a semi crash and possible hazmat situation on Interstate 25 around mile post 110 … about 40 miles south of Socorro.

After careful investigation, the cylinders on the semi carrying chlorodifluorobromomethane, were determined not to be ruptured and there was no hazmat spill. The driver of the CMV received only minor injuries.

Crack Sealing Project Begins In White Rock Today

COUNTY News:

Road crews begin crack sealing work today on Rover Boulevard and Meadow Lane in White Rock. This is a mobile operation and substantial traffic disruption is not anticipated.

Working hours are expected to be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and the work is expected to last no longer than 14 calendar days. Once the work is completed on Rover Boulevard and Meadow Lane, crews will continue crack sealing in Pajarito Acres and La Senda for an additional four weeks.

Drivers are urged to be patient and drive safely through these work zones.

Traffic Alert: NM 502 And NM 4 Road Construction

Starting this afternoon (July 24) through Thursday, during rush hour, and all day Friday, the N.M. 4 single-lane hairpin turn (blue on the map) at the Y interchange that takes drivers onto Main Hill Road will close for traffic safety.

Drivers needing to get from White Rock/N.M. 4 to Los Alamos will need to go via East Jemez Road/truck route.

RTD 255 Mountain Trail Resumes Service

The North Central Regional Transit District has announced that service for the RTD 255 Mountain Trail route resumed its regular schedule Saturday with the reopening of the Santa Fe National Forest and Hyde State Park.
 
The RTD “Blue Bus” 255 Mountain Trail provides service from points throughout downtown Santa Fe up Hyde Park Road through Hyde State Park and into the Santa Fe National Forest. Bus stops along the route provide access to trailheads and picnic areas, service concludes at Ski Santa Fe.

Road Work Resumes Between Truck Route And ‘Y’

Paving work will resume Friday, July 13, on N.M. 4 between the truck route and the White Rock “Y” interchange with N.M. 502.

This work will result in just one lane open throughout the weekend with a pilot car to escort traffic in both directions from early morning to late afternoon.

Friday commuters may want to consider using the Main Hill Road as the most efficient route to get to and from Los Alamos and Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Utility Work On Diamond Saturday … Possibly Sunday

Gas, water and sewer crews with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities will be excavating on the north side of Diamond Dr. between 35th and 37th streets to identify the location of, and if possible, repair a water leak.

This investigatory utility work will occur Saturday July 14 and possibly continue through Sunday July 15.

East and westbound traffic will be restricted beginning at 7:30 a.m. to one lane in each direction on the south side of Diamond, while two lanes on the north side of Diamond will be closed at the construction zone. Motorists can expect some delays.
