Road Paving Underway On NM 4 Through Wednesday

Final paving of N.M. 4 between East Jemez Road and Hwy 502 is scheduled for today and Wednesday.

To minimize traffic disruption, the Department of Public Utilities’ contractor will coordinate paving of lanes to occur at times with the least traffic.

Paving of southbound lanes are scheduled for this afternoon (two-way traffic will be maintained). Late Wednesday morning, paving of the northbound lane will occur and should be completed before 3:30 p.m. with two-way traffic again will being maintained.​ Read More

Halloween Buzz Bus Offers Free Rides Saturday!

The Los Alamos DWI Planning Council and Atomic City Transit (ACT) are partnering once again to provide free safe ride services this Saturday, Oct. 28 in Los Alamos.

Ride service will be available 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Reservations will be accepted starting at 7 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27 and from 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

Law Enforcement Activity Sunday Morning On US 84/285 In Pojoaque Area … Expect Slow Moving Traffic

Law enforcement activity between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, will require some lane closures along US 84/285 by mile marker 178 in the Pojoaque area.

Motorists will be able to travel along US 84/285 but traffic may be slowed.

Santa Fe County Sheriff’s investigators will be at the scene of last Friday’s fatal crash site conducting follow up investigatory work.

All police activity should be completed by 9 a.m. in this area.

Reminder: NM 4 Full Road Closure Begins 9 p.m. Friday For 24 Hours

Officials with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will close a section of N.M. 4 between East Jemez Road and N.M. 502 (main hill) to all traffic.

The full road closure will be in effect for a 24-hour period beginning at 9 p.m. Friday Oct. 20 through 9 p.m. Saturday Oct. 21 to permit crews to safely install a large diameter water pipeline. East Jemez Road or the Truck Route will remain open at all times.

SANTA FE ― The New Mexico Department of Transportation encourages teens to drive safely and urges parents to talk to their teens about safe driving habits during National Teen Driver Safety Week, which is Oct. 15 – 21.

NCRTD Board Votes To Place A Hold On Santa Fe Transit Consolidation

Friday at its monthly Board meeting, the North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) voted unanimously to place a pause on consolidation of transit operations of the Santa Fe Trails bus into the NCRTD system.

Alert: Traffic Remains At Standstill In Pojoaque

Los Alamos residents are reporting that traffic is at a standstill on U.S. 84/285 near Buffalo Thunder following a multiple vehicle accident late this afternoon.

One couple told the Los Alamos Daily Post that it took them 4 hours to travel from Los Alamos to Santa Fe.

A woman said it took her an extra 45 minutes to get from Los Alamos to Pojoaque at “rush hour” today after work, but traffic from her apartment looks like it is still backed up for miles almost 2.5 hours later.
