SANTA FE  New Mexico Department of Transportation crews are prepared to clear the roads and highways as the state begins to experience the winter weather season. Last year, NMDOT crews removed snow and ice from over a million pass miles.

SANTA FE  The New Mexico Department of Transportation announced Wednesday the launch of a project website and interactive map for the Prioritized Statewide Bicycle Network Plan (NM Bike Plan).
 
The website provides a platform for bicyclists and others to share their valuable input in the bicycle planning and route prioritization process.

Last Day This Year For Bandelier Shuttle Buses Oct. 15

After a busy spring, summer, fall, and Balloon Fiesta, during which the shuttles carried thousands of visitors between White Rock and the Bandelier Visitor Center, this year’s shuttle season is about to draw to an end. 
 
Sunday, Oct. 15 will be the last day of shuttle bus service to the park until next spring.

Bridge Rehabilitation Project: Pojoaque Intersection Of US 84/NM 502 And US 84/NM 503 Begins Today

NMDOT News:

SANTA FE The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will begin bridge rehabilitation work on two bridges on US 84/285 at mile marker 180.20 and mile marker 180.8 near Cities of Gold Casino in Pojoaque.

 Beginning today, US84/285 northbound and southbound lanes will be reduced to one lane 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic can expect delays during this time.

Hasse Contracting Company, Inc. of Albuquerque is the contractor for this project.

Countywide Road Striping Begins Wednesday

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets Division will be working with contractor San Bar Construction, which will be striping various roadways throughout the county beginning Wednesday, Oct. 11.

The striping will begin on Diamond Drive and proceed to side streets from there. The work should be completed by Friday, Oct. 13, depending on weather conditions.

San Bar will not be striping during morning and evening commute hours.

County: Trinity Drive Lane Closure Update

COUNTY News:

As part of 20th Street Extension Project, the utility connections on Trinity Drive that were scheduled for this week have had to be postponed due to heavy rainfall received at the project site.

This work will require the existing eastbound right lane temporary lane closure to stay in place through the weekend and into next week. Weather permitting, the temporary lane closure on Trinity Drive should be removed by Friday, Oct. 13.

Section Of NM 4 To Close For 24 Hours Near Tsankawi

COUNTY News:

The  Department of Public Utilities is drilling a new water well in Los Alamos Canyon and is extending the new water transmission line across N.M. 4 to tie into the existing line that takes water to White Rock.

As a result, DPU needs to completely close a section of N.M. 4 for a period of 24 hours (near Tsankawi), however, East Jemez Road (Truck Route) will remain open.

The plan is to complete this work beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20 through 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21. While work is underway Sunday, Oct. 22, the road will be open for two-way traffic. Read More

Lane Closures Planned Near Trinity Drive Intersection At Diamond Saturday

COUNTY News: 

Starting at 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, the concrete curb will be replaced between the eastbound and westbound lanes on Trinity Drive at the intersection of Diamond Drive east of Trinity Drive.

This work will require the closure of one of the two westbound left turn lanes on Trinity to Diamond. The eastbound through lane on Trinity Drive immediately east of Diamond Drive will be closed for approximately 200 feet, requiring the closure of the southbound Diamond left turn lane.
