Traffic is open east bound and westbound on East Road/N.M. 502 near the intersection of Camino Entrada.
At 6:47 a.m. a crash occurred involving four vehicles. Two drivers were transported with injuries.
LAPD is still investigating the crash and asks drivers to drive slowly or avoid the area.
Police also ask that westbound drivers seeking to turn right into Camino Entrada bypass the crash and make a right turn into Main Gate Park when safe to do so and return westbound to turn into Camino Entrada.
LAPD will update the public when the roadway is clear. Read More

Workers from Franco’s Builder, LLC on the job Thursday replacing a section of sidewalk near 77 Rover Blvd. in White Rock. The sidewalk on the west side of Rover Boulevard in front of Enterprise Bank & Trust has been closed due to the damaged sidewalk. It will remain closed until the sidewalk is repaired. Water crews from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will be repairing a slow water leak on 34th Street on Monday. The work will begin at 8:30 a.m. and should last no later than 4 p.m. Monday.
The leak is in the middle of the road on 34th near Urban St. The area will be closed to through traffic while the repair is being made. Drivers should exercise caution near the work zone and avoid the area if possible.
DPU’s crews don’t anticipate any loss of water service for residents on 34th Street, although a drop in water pressure is possible.

CHAVES COUNTY — At around 2:30 p.m. Feb. 27, 2024, New Mexico State Police (NMSP) was called to investigate a fatal crash involving multiple vehicles on U.S. Highway 285 and the intersection of East Orchard Park Road south of Roswell.
The initial investigation indicated that a Ford pickup truck, driven by a 46-year-old male, was trying to cross 285 from East Orchard Park Road. A 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by a 43-year-old male struck the Ford pickup truck as it crossed 285, causing both vehicles to become disabled in the northbound lanes.

This morning, Feb. 27, 2024, the Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) responded to a 9-1-1 call received by the LAPD Consolidated Dispatch Center reporting a three-car accident on N.M. 501/East Jemez Road (Truck Route) near mile marker 7.
LAPD officers arrived on the scene a few minutes later at 7:27 a.m., followed by Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD). Police officers closed the Truck Route for several hours for accident response, clean-up and investigation efforts.
