Posts From The Road: Battle Of Little Bighorn In Montana

Memorial: A memorial stands on the Last Stand Hill honoring those lives lost in the Battle of Little Bighorn. The memorial plaque reads: ‘The remains of about 220 soldiers, scouts, and civilians are buried around the base of this memorial. The white marble headstones scattered over the battlefield denotes where slain troopers were found and originally buried. In 1881 they were reinterred in a single grave on this site. Remains of the officers were removed in 1877 to various cemeteries throughout the country. General Custer was buried at West Point.’ Photo by Gary Warren/ladailypost.com

Beyond Recognition: This work truck was consumed beyond recognition as it sat in a state of rusty decay. It appeared to have some large metal objects in the bed of the truck, which also deteriorated. Photo by Gary Warren/ladailypost.com

Bourque: North Mesa Roundabout Hazard

Los Alamos

It was not possible to see this boy despite a witness claiming he had entered the intersection first. I first saw him only when he was darting in front of me, even though I had looked to the left more than once.

The reason is that my view of him was blocked by the roundabout itself. It has overgrown vegetation, large boulders, a mountain lion statue, and two evergreen trees whose branches reach the ground.

I have attached a photo, taken from my car Read More
