Pianist Dmytro Choni To Perform In Los Alamos Nov. 24

Dmytro Choni, who took home bronze at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in June 2022, will perform a program presented by the Los Alamos Concert Association (LACA) at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24 at Duane Smith Auditorium.

Choni is only the second Ukrainian pianist to medal at the prestigious Cliburn contest. The Veterans Day National Ceremony is held each year on November 11th at Arlington National Cemetery.

The ceremony commences precisely at 11:00 a.m. with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns and continues inside the Memorial Amphitheater with a parade of colors by Veterans’ organizations and remarks from dignitaries.

Rotary Club Of Los Alamos Thanks Community For Purple Pinkie Polio Awareness Campaign Success

The Rotary Club of Los Alamos and Rotary Interact Club at the Los Alamos High School would like to thank the community and all our students who participated in our recent Purple Pinkie Polio Awareness Campaign.

It was a great success! Almost 1,100 students had their pinkies dipped in purple dye to signify their support of another child being vaccinated against this highly infectious virus.

The money raised will vaccinate approximately 1,800 children with just a drop of vaccine administered on the tongue. No injections!

Final Dark Night Of 2024 Tonight At Spirio Soccer Fields

Los Alamos County Parks, Recreation and Open Space Divisions have partnered up with the Pajarito Astronomers for the Dark Night program.

Anyone with an interest in star gazing and the chance to look through a telescope is invited to come out to Spirio Soccer Fields Saturday night, 11/02/24, at Overlook Park in White Rock. This is the last Dark Night for 2024.
