The landscape for vaccines has evolved considerably in the last few years, with the advent of COVID vaccines and the development of the first vaccines and monoclonal antibodies against RSV.

ANN ELIZABETH EILERT (PEART) Aug. 2, 1940 – Aug. 12, 2024

Ann Elizabeth Eilert (Peart) of Wilmington, NC, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Monday, Aug. 12, at the age of 84, after suffering for several years with vascular dementia.

She was born Aug. 2, 1940 in Galesburg, Illinois to Elva Grace McKune and Ray Gordon Peart.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two younger brothers, William Ray Peart and John Gordon Peart, whom she adored and helped to raise.

Valerio Pinchetti was the top predictor in the Atomic City Road Runners (ACRR) weekly pace race held Tuesday on the Rendja Canyon Trail off Range Road. He was 8 seconds off his predicted time.

Other accurate predictors were:

  • Deana Tsang with a 14 second differential;
  • Conor Galvin at 18 seconds off;
  • Lynn Bjorklund recording a 21 second difference as well as the first finisher on the 1 mile paved course; and

Extensive flooding continues in the Las Vegas area, especially along the Gallinas River. It is best to avoid this area as crews clean up after the floods. It is always a good idea to check conditions at the location you are headed to. Streamflows can be checked on the United States Geological Survey (USGS) streamflow website.

So far streamflows have remained decent this summer and are now at a good level for fishing.
