Shear Delight At Bosque Redondo Memorial Fiber Fair May 3

Bosque Redondo Memorial’s Fiber Fair shows visitors how wool is processed from sheep to fabric. Las Arañas Spinners and Weavers Guild will offer live demonstrations and hands-on activities using sheared wool from the site’s flock of Navajo-Churro sheep 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Fort Sumner Historic Site.

Deadline Approaching For Los Alamos Department Of Public Utilities Essay Contest

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) is conducting an essay contest for high school students as part of an effort organized by Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems (UAMPS).

A local student may receive sponsorship to attend a summer leadership camp and scholarship program in Idaho called the ICUA Youth Rally, but only if they get their essay submitted no later than May 2.

Artists Palette: Artists Palette is the star viewpoint on the nine mile Artists Drive area of Death Valley National Park. This view features some of the most colorful rock formations within the national park. The formations are a result of volcanic activity millions of years ago and the array of colors are caused by oxidation of the various minerals found in the rocks.
