New Mexico PED To Offer 3,000 Paid High School Internships

SANTA FE — New Mexico high school students will have access to as many as 3,000 paid summer internships next year, giving them hands-on work experience in careers ranging from health care to technology.

The New Mexico Public Education Department’s (PED) Summer Enrichment Internship Program, launched in 2021, is expanding through a new statewide coalition led by Education at Work. The eight-week internships will focus on high-demand industries identified by the Department of Workforce Solutions.

NNMC Baccalaureate Degree Nursing Program Seeks Third Party Comments

ESPAÑOLA — The baccalaureate degree program in nursing (RN to BSN Program) at Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) in Española, is seeking written, third-party comments from the public and program stakeholders in preparation for an onsite accreditation review by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), scheduled for March 2-4, 2026.

Despite Thursday morning’s weather and hazardous road conditions, Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) officers conducted 20 traffic stops and issued nearly 30 citations, most of them for speeding.

Several drivers were cited for traveling more than 26 miles per hour – or more – over the posted speed limit.

Excessive speeding on wet or icy roads is extremely dangerous. LAPD reminds all drivers to slow down and exercise caution during their commutes—no matter the weather or road conditions.
