LALT To Host Theater Lighting Workshop Aug. 10

Los Alamos Little Theater (LALT) is hosting a theater lighting workshop open to anyone who wants to learn how to set, design and run lights during a live theater performance.

The class will be held 1-6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at the PAC, 1670 Nectar St. The workshop is free and donations are welcome.

Participants will learn the basics of theater lighting with lighting expert Hadley Hershey, who has worked extensively with the lighting equipment at LALT as well as at various theaters as a professional lighting technician, including in New York City.

Free Bolero Dancing And Lessons At BESC Starting Aug. 5

Every Monday (except County holidays) from 7-9 p.m. everyone is welcome to free ballroom dancing and lessons at the Betty Ehart Senior Center Center.

This is a Los Alamos County Activity organized by Terry Goodwin and Selmo Jaramillo. Every month they focus on a particular ballroom dance, and in August the focus is bolero.

“Deadpool and Wolverine” opened nationwide on Friday and is playing locally at SALA through August 8th. This is the third, major release Deadpool movie with Ryan Reynolds in the title role, after the original in 2016 and Deadpool 2 in 2018. The TGIF concert this week features “Participants’ Recital for the Santa Fe Summer Organ Academy”  Aug. 2 at First Presbyterian Church, 208 Grant Ave. in Santa Fe.

The community is invited to ejoy the music of these talented organists. The doors to the sanctuary open at 5:15 p.m. and the concert begins at 5:30 p.m. The concert is free with donations accepted.
