The trading card game Lorcana is coming to Los Alamos! Mesa Top Games & Toys in Los Alamos earned early approval to host Organized Play for Disney Lorcana by Ravensburger.

Lorcana is a trading card game (TCG) similar to tabletop card games, like Magic the Gathering and Pokémon, but with a host of familiar Disney features. Players act as Ilumineers who have been brought to the realm of Lorcana. With the help of magical ink, Ilumineers summon glimmers (Disney characters) to help collect lore faster than their opponent. It’s all well and good to want to be a superhero but sometimes it is fun to be bad! Here, contestants in the 2023 Atomicon costume contest compete for the best villain costume. The costume contest was held Saturday at the Betty Ehart Senior Center. Participants could compete in multiple categories and winners were able to select a prize. Scenes From Trip To Alaska By White Rock Residents

Scene of Toby, a grizzly bear cooling of in water that White Rock residents Linda and Barbara Uher saw during their recent trip to Alaska. Toby weighs about 1,200 pounds and stands 6 feet tall at her shoulder. She learned how to sign for more food by putting her paws together in front of her chest. Toby has a brother Balloo, her brother Lucky died in 2017. Her mother died from ingesting  plastic bags she found in a garbage can. Toby lives at Fortress of the Bear rescue center in Sitka, Alaska.
