The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad (C&TS), the nation’s highest, longest and most authentic steam railroad, will open its 2026 season June 9, following a brief delay caused by drought conditions and elevated wildfire concerns.

Community Invited To Justice Center South Wall Mosaic Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Saturday June 13

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County invites everyone to attend a ribbon‑cutting ceremony at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 13 to celebrate the completion of the new Justice Center wall mosaic—a large‑scale glass artwork commissioned by the Art in Public Places Board.

The ceremony will include short remarks from County representatives and artist J Muzacz, ending with a ribbon cutting to commemorate the artwork’s addition to the County’s public art collection.

The event will take place at the south‑facing exterior wall of the Los Alamos Justice Center, at the corner of Trinity Drive and Oppenheimer Drive. Read More

LAHS Class Of ’81 Seeks Classmate Info For 45th Reunion

The Los Alamos High School (LAHS) Class of 1981 reunion committee is seeking contact information for individuals who identify as members of the Class of 81.

This contact information will be used for the 45th reunion this year and the 50th reunion in 2031.

The Class of ‘81 45th reunion will be Sept. 17-20 in Los Alamos, and the reunion committee would like to get registration information into the hands of its missing classmates.

The State Game and Fish Department stocked a total of 49,338 rainbow trout weighing 10,606 pounds (about 4810.8 kg). Most of the stocking will now be in Northern New Mexico.
