Scene from The Family YMCA’s 2026 Senior Appreciation Night (SAN) event Saturday in downtown Los Alamos. Los Alamos High School (LAHS) seniors were invited to celebrate a night dedicated just for them, starting at Fuller Lodge. This special annual event honored graduating seniors with an evening full of fun, community, and celebration. Attendees enjoyed activities throughout the night and had the opportunity to be entered into a raffle featuring a variety of exciting prizes. Free Admission To National Parks On Memorial Day

In honor of Memorial Day, all National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee, including Valles Caldera National Preserve (VCNP), will offer free admission to U.S. citizens and residents on Monday, May 25.
Mark your calendar for these additional fee-free dates in 2026:
- June 14: Flag Day
- July 3-5: Independence Day weekend
- Aug. 25: 110th Birthday of the National Park Service
- Sept. 17: Constitution Day
- Oct. 27: Theodore Roosevelt’s birthday

Last year, the film, “Jemez: A Murder Mystery” depicted a camping trip in the Jemez Mountains going horribly wrong when someone is murdered. The movie ended ambiguously and audience members were left to ponder who the killer was.
