Spring Cleanup At White Rock Community Garden May 17

COMMUNITY News:

The spring cleanup day for the White Rock Community Garden is 9 a.m., to noon, Saturday, May 17.

Tasks that need volunteers to help with include:

          • Some weeding, but not much
          • pruning the bushes
          • sweeping the walkways
          • fleshing out the irrigation system

Please bring tools and anything that might be useful for sprucing up the garden for the coming season.

The garden is on N.M. 4 across from the White Rock Visitor Center.

Teatro Paraguas To Host ‘Voices Of Resistance’ June 1

Teatro Paraguas at 3205 Calle Marie in Santa Fe will host seven women poets for a poetry reading to benefit two important non-profit organizations: Santa Fe Dreamers and Solace. Voices of Resistance – a poetry reading and benefit is 4 p.m. Sunday, June 1, for Santa Fe Dreamers and Solace at Teatro Paraguas. Tickets are by donation. 

Organized by Katherine DiBella Seluja, the poets are Tina Carlson, Alicia Elkhart, Natachee Momaday Gray, Mary Oishi, Michelle Otero, Stella Reed and Katherine DiBella Seluja.
