Bandelier’s Summer Shuttle Service Begins May 19

Bandelier National Monument will begin its free summer shuttle service to Frijoles Canyon, Monday, May 19, replacing the earlier announced date of May 14.

The shuttle, provided by Atomic City Transit, runs every 30 minutes starting at 10 a.m. and will board at the Frey Trail parking lot inside Bandelier.

Unlike previous years, the shuttle is not mandatory unless the parking lots in the canyon fill up. There is no charge for riding the shuttle, but all normal entry fees still apply for entering Read More

Los Alamos County Parks, Recreation and Open Space Divisions have partnered with the Pajarito Astronomers Club for the Dark Night program. The community is invited to attend the May Dark Night this evening at Spirio Field, weather permitting. The forecast for tonight is mostly clear. Sunset is 8 p.m., and those gathered will begin observing Jupiter about 8:45 p.m., if it is clear to the west.
