Groundbreaking Ceremony At The Hill Apartments Nov. 3

COUNTY News:

The Hill Apartments, a new housing development at 121 and 141 35th St. at the intersection of 35th and Finch Street will host a Groundbreaking Ceremony at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3.

The site is the former Los Alamos Site Office, or “LASO” for Los Alamos National Laboratory. Grading of the site commenced in the Summer of 2021 and the developers are beginning the construction of the apartments.

The development was realized through the conveyance of land to Los Alamos County from the Department of Energy (DOE) for the purpose of Economic Development.

State Surpasses Milestone With New Mexico Emergency Rental And Utilities Assistance Program

ERAP News:

SANTA FE — The State of New Mexico, in partnership with the City of Albuquerque, has awarded more than $54 million in rental and utility assistance to New Mexico households through the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP).

An additional $71 million has been earmarked for innovative assistance programs being awarded over the coming months.

As a result of this effective progress, the important milestone of 65 percent allocation has been surpassed and the state will not revert any of the $185.5 million in funds made available by the federal government.

Power Outage Planned For Portion Of Western Area

COUNTY News:

Weather permitting, electric linemen with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) have scheduled a 4-hour power outage for properties surrounding Sandia Drive in the Western Area.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Thursday, July 29, the outage will continue until 2 a.m. Friday, July 30.

Customers affected by the outage are on Ridgeway between 47th Street and Diamond Drive, the 45th/41st street loop south of Sandia; 44th, 43rd, 41st streets and homes on the west side of 40th Street that intersect Sandia.
