Scenes From Cowboy Breakfast Today At Posse Lodge

A line of hungry people wait outside the Los Alamos County Sheriff’s Posse Lodge this morning for the monthly Cowboy Breakfast at 650 North Mesa Road. The breakfasts are held the first Sunday of each month and benefit different non-profit organizations. The fee for breakfast, which is $10 for adults and $5 for children younger than 10, gets patrons an all-you-can-eat breakfast. Sunday’s breakfast benefits the Sheriff’s Posse, the stewards of the historical lodge at 650 North Mesa Road. The Posse is a non-profit organization supporting the community since 1951. New Mexico State Police Investigate Road Rage Shooting

NMSP News:

Isleta – The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Investigations Bureau was requested to investigate a shooting Aug. 31, 2023, on Interstate 25 northbound south of Isleta.

Investigations Bureau agents learned that at around 2 p.m., a NMSP officer conducted a welfare check on a vehicle on the shoulder of Interstate 25 around the 209-mile marker. The officer quickly learned that a road rage incident had just occurred, and someone had been struck by gunfire.

New Mexico Sets 2022 Visitation Record: 40.8 Million Trips

New Mexico Tourism Department News:

SANTA FE — New Mexico set a visitation record in 2022 with an estimated total of 40.8 million trips, surpassing the previous record of 39 million trips set in 2021.

Of the estimated 40.8 million trips to New Mexico in 2022, 16.7 million were overnight trips, representing a 5.8 percent increase from 2021.

GALLUP — The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) worked alongside Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) between Gallup and Holbrook, Ariz., Aug. 25, 2023, to keep that stretch of Interstate 40 safe from dangerous driving and to prevent traffic crashes.
