State Police To Hold Checkpoints And Saturation Patrols In Counties Across New Mexico In September 2023

State Police will be conducting sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols, and registration, insurance, and driver’s license checkpoints in all New Mexico counties during the month of September 2023.

We are bringing awareness to these events to reduce impaired driving-related fatalities through continued media attention and intensive advertising.

These checkpoints are helping to change society’s attitude about driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs.

Not long ago, as I left the post office, I found myself humming a 1935 tune: “I’m gonna sit right down and write myself a letter.” I was there to purchase a roll of “forever” stamps, see what’s new with the specialty stamps, and mail a package.

Over the past few weeks, I have been showing some people how to throw pottery, to form it on the pottery wheel. It is an ancient process, made much easier by electric motors and premixed, homogenized clay.

The hardest thing for beginners to get is centering the clay, getting the clay perfectly balanced in the middle of the spinning wheel.
