News Alert: Motorcycle Crash On Omega Bridge

News Alert:

UPDATE: Los Alamos Police have cleared the accident scene and the road is reopened. 

There is a motorcycle crash on the Omega Bridge. The male driver has been transported to LAMC with unknown injuries.

One lane is closed southbound and the Los Alamos Police Department is asking motorists to proceed with caution, and if possible, avoid the area all together while responders clear the crash scene.

Another Top 10 DWI Fugitive Arrested

SANTA FE – Gov. Susana Martinez has announced that another of the state’s top 10 DWI fugitives, Senneca Antonio, was recently captured by the Farmington Police Department.

He is back behind bars on a parole violation. This was the second time that Antonio had fled supervision. He had been on the run since May 30 – just days after he was released on parole for his seventh or greater DWI offense. NMDOT: Top 10 DWI Fugitive Back Behind Bars

SANTA FE  Today, Gov. Susana Martinez announced that one of the state’s top 10 DWI fugitives, Maria Murray, is now behind bars.
 
Since 2003, Murray has been arrested for five DWIs, including aggravated DWI. She has been fleeing justice since October 2016 and was captured while on parole for her fifth DWI offense.

Los Alamos Police Department Seeks Identities Of Two Female Suspects In May 31 Shoplifting Case

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying two female suspects seen in video surveillance footage from a shoplifting incident May 31 at a store on Central Avenue.

LAPD is offering a reward of up to $150 to anyone who has information on the identity of the two suspects.

Anyone with information can call L.A. crime stoppers at 505.662-8282. Reporting individuals can remain anonymous.

Family Safe After Lightning Strikes Home

A lightning strike Tuesday evening at the home of Leo and Clare Webber on Los Pueblos Road evening caused substantial damage but the couple escaped without injury.

The Los Alamos Fire Department received a call of the strike about 9:30 p.m. and dispatched several units to the scene. During the same time frame, LAFD also responded to a fire alarm at the Los Alamos County Eco Station on East Jemez Road.

An Atomic City Transit bus driver braked abruptly at the intersection of Diamond Drive and 38th Street to avoid a collision this morning causing a female passenger to fall forward and hit her head on a pole inside the bus. Los Alamos Police Department and Fire Department personnel responded to the scene. Documents obtained from the New Mexico Department of Public Safety this morning reveal that Santa Fe County Sheriff Major Gabe Gonzales and New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau agents were aware of incidences of child solicitation by electronic device involving Dustin Bingham as early as last January.

I would like to thank the County Council for the reconciliation of the Sheriff’s duties and funding. There seems to be a debate of how much funding the County should return to the Sheriff’s Office. It seems that individuals responsible for trying to drive out this elected position are now in charge of determining what the Sheriff’s duties should be.
