Bandelier National Monument is hosting an event to celebrate National Public Lands Day Saturday, Sept.  28.
There will be opportunities for visitors to learn about public lands: different Bandelier divisions, such as Resource Management, Fire Management, Administration and more will be setting up tables to talk about their work and how it connects to the park.

The Los Alamos Elks Lodge #2083 is hosting the 2024 Annual Elks Charity Golf Tournament starting at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27 at the Los Alamos Golf Course followed by a luncheon and other festivities at the Elks Lodge at 1601 Trinity Drive.

This will be one of the first opportunities to play on some of the renovated holes. The partial golf course opening means it can only support a reduced field of golfers. The vehicular entrance is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day) and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the rest of the year. Trailhead accesses are open dawn to dusk every day of the year. Free Bikes 4 Kidz New Mexico, a local non-profit organization on a mission to provide bicycles to all individuals in New Mexico who wouldn’t otherwise have access, will host a series of fall used bike collection drives in Los Alamos, Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

The first drive is happening 2-6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27 and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 28 in Los Alamos.
