The New Mexico State Fair is in full swing, and to ensure everyone has a smooth and enjoyable experience, several convenient transportation options are available to transport attendees to the fairgrounds easily and safely.

  • Park and ride services are available to the State Fair from Coronado Center on Saturday’s and Sunday’s during the Fair. Park and ride provides expedited entry straight onto the grounds with security screenings taking place prior to boarding.

Community Invited To Participate In Free American Smooth Foxtrot Dancing And Lessons Starting Monday Sept. 9

Every Monday (except County holidays) from 7-9 p.m. everyone is welcome to free ballroom dancing and lessons at the Betty Ehart Senior Center. It is a Los Alamos County Activity organized by Terry Goodwin and Selmo Jaramillo. Every month we focus on a particular ballroom dance, and in September is American Smooth Foxtrot.

SFNF Road To Close For Filming Wednesday Sept. 11 Around Gilman Tunnels In Jemez Ranger District

SANTA FE — The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) issued a special use permit for filming around the Gilman Tunnels area in the Jemez Ranger District.

The section of Forest Service Road 376 between the South side of Gilman tunnels to the gate immediately to the North of the tunnels will be closed 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Wednesday, Sept. 11 for filming.

Paper Flower Workshop Blooms At Coronado Historic Site

Coronado Historic Site will lead two drop-in paper flower workshops 1-4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15 and Sept. 22, for visitors to make colorful tissue paper  flowers for the site’s community ofrenda, or offering, display.

Visitors can learn to make colorful tissue paper marigold flowers with instructional coordinator supervisor Jessica Coyle at Coronado Historic Site.

All flowers made in the workshop will be saved and used to decorate the community ofrenda table that will debut at the Fiesta of Cultures Oct. 19.
