Los Alamos County Parks Division Sets Tentative Schedule For Tennis/Pickleball Court Resurfacing

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Parks Division is looking forward to warmer temperatures to allow them to start work resurfacing the tennis and pickleball courts across the county.

The project, which was originally scheduled to begin April 1, 2023, has been pushed to June 1, 2023, due to the unusually cold spring weather.

“We had anticipated an earlier start,” Parks Superintendent Wendy Parker said. “But the weather plays a big role in the process, since we need temperatures to be consistently above the 50-degree mark.”

The snowpack continues to pile up in the mountains of the Western United States during March. This is just what was needed to help break the drought that has gripped this part of the country the last few years.

This will lead to some flooding thanks to high streamflows later this spring. Hopefully, the snowpack will melt slowly rather than all at once. Flooding is already happening in California, which is bearing the brunt of the series of storms that have been blowing in from the Pacific Ocean. Some lowland flooding is starting to be reported Read More
