Horse Show Sunday At North Mesa Equestrian Facility

Los Alamos Pony Club will be hosting a dressage competition and regional Pony Club rally Sunday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the county’s North Mesa equestrian facility.

Organized by Laura Kober, a dressage rider and parent of a Pony Club member, the show is part of the New Mexico Dressage Association’s series of schooling (practice) competitions over the year. Woodroffe Has Best Prediction In Weekly Pace Race

Jesse Woodroffe had the top prediction in the weekly pace race held out on North Mesa by the Rodeo Arena. He was only 2 seconds off his predicted time. 
 
Lauraine Maness was next with a 3 second differential followed by Jessica Baumgaertel at 4 seconds off. Cecilia Rivenburgh and Ted Romero were both at 7 seconds.
 
In the 1 mile course Reid Rivenburgh was the first finisher at 9:56. The top female was Sue Elkins recording a 12:51.

Ted Romero had a perfect prediction in the weekly pace race held Tuesday April 14 at the Waste Treatment Plant road in lower Bayo Canyon.

Community Participates In ‘Run For Her Life’ Races

People of all ages turned out for the 5th Annual Run For Her Life 5K and 10K races sponsored by Los Alamos Hadassah and Atomic City Roadrunners Sunday at East Park.

All proceeds from the annual event are donated to breast cancer research.

Los Alamos Atomic Tumblers Compete In Men’s Gymnastics Championships

Los a Alamos Atomic Tumblers traveled to Eagle Ridge Gymnastics March 22-23 to compete in the men’s New Mexico State Gymnastics Championships.

Daniel Fryer competed in the level 6 session. Fryer, once again, for his third consecutive year has qualified to the Region 9 Championships. This is his third year competing in USA men’s gymnastics and his third level of accomplishment.

LAHS Navy JROTC Are State Drill Champions

The Los Alamos High School Navy JROTC won their first state drill championship. The teams took first place trophies in unarmed regulation, unarmed inspection, armed regulation, armed inspection, male fitness, female fitness and male color guard. Second place in precision air rifle and female color guard and third place in armed and unarmed exhibition drill.
