Hilltopper Varsity Hockey Plays First Game Of 2014-2015 Season At 5 p.m. Today In Taos

SPORTS News:

The Los Alamos Hilltopper Hockey Program kicks off its 2014-2015 season at 5 p.m. today in Taos. The game will be broadcast by KRSN.

The team’s coaching staff includes Head Coach Kevin Brake, Assistant Coach Mick Matuszak, Assistant Coach Jeffrey Roach and Assistant Coach Brett Lincoln.

LAHA offers hockey at all levels. From our “learn to skate” program for little ones that have never been on the ice before to recreational, non-contact ice hockey, to teams that play in tournaments around the southwest. Three YMCA Basketball Skills Workshops Begin Saturday

YMCA News:

The Family YMCA is hosting three Saturday morning basketball-skill sessions to help new players learn basic skills.

The fundamentals program will be led by Y volunteer coaches and run 9-11 a.m. Nov. 8, 15 and 22 in the YMCA gymnasium at 1450 Iris St. in Los Alamos.

The sessions are open to youth registered for the Y’s Youth Basketball Program, but potential basketball players are welcome to come check it out to see if they want to join. CROP Walk/Turkey Trot To Combat Hunger Nov. 23

COMMUNITY News:

The Annual CROP Walk/Turkey Trot will be held on Sunday, Nov. 23 at Los Alamos Middle School.

Sign up will begin at 1 p.m., the event begins at 2 p.m. and participants have the choice of walking or running a 2.5 or 1.7 mile course.

Everyone is eligible to win turkeys and pumpkin pies per a random drawing. Food will be available. T-shirts will be available to those who donate to the CROP Charity.
