The weather has finally settled down and spring is definitely here. Flowers and fruit trees are blooming. The land gets a little greener every day.

Spring hunting season for wild turkeys opens today, April 15. New Mexico has three species of wild turkeys. Los Alamos youth rugby teams: the Bombshells, Nukes and Accelerators are hosting a Sevens Tournament for teams from Rio Rancho, La Cueva, St Pius and El Dorado.

The games start at 9 a.m. on both April 13 and April 27 at Sullivan Field in Los Alamos. Entry is free,  tackles are priceless!

To mark April (National Pickleball Month), the newly formed Pajarito Pickleball Club is now open to accepting members at www.pajaritopickleballclub.org.

As ski season winds down, Purgatory Resort bids farewell to winter with the annual Pond Skim event April 14. While Sunday also marks the end of daily operations, Purgatory will remain open weekends, April 19- 21 and April 26-28.
