NM 502 Pavement Preservation Work Lane Closures Begin 9 a.m. Today

NMDOT News:

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will begin pavement preservation work at 9 a.m. today on N.M. 502 from milepost 8.50 to milepost 18.50 from the Totavi Gas Station to Cities of Gold Casino.  

The contractor will be milling the existing asphalt and then follow with a heater scarification overlay process.

Starting Today: N.M. 502 westbound lanes will be reduced to one lane for three weeks. Motorists can expect delays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

There will be weekend work Saturday’s only. No work on Sunday.

Lane Closure, Flagging Operation At 33rd & Walnut

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County street crews will be repairing a section of asphalt at 33rd and Walnut Street 9 am. to 3 p.m. starting Tuesday, Sept. 19 and ending Sept. 21.

The lane closure will include a flagging operation to allow for continual traffic flow during this project.

Ullr Fest Transportation To And From White Rock

COUNTY News:

The DWI Planning Council is partnering with Atomic City Transit (ACT) to provide additional bus service this Saturday, Sept. 23 for Ullr Fest.

Shuttles run every 30 minutes between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from the Sullivan Field parking lot to the Ski Hill and back. The additional service is between the White Rock Visitor Center and Sullivan Field.

NMDOT To Present State Rail Plan Update

SANTA FE ― The New Mexico Department of Transportation has initiated an update of the New Mexico State Rail Plan, to be completed in 2018. 
 
NMDOT Staff are making presentations to introduce the Rail Plan and solicit input from each of the State’s Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and Regional Transportation Planning Organizations (RTPOs) during their public meetings in the Summer and Fall of 2017.

Trinity Drive Lane Closure Scheduled For Next Week

As part of the 20th Street Extension Project, construction crews will be locating existing underground utilities on Trinity Drive at the intersection of 20th Street followed by placement of new underground conduit via subsurface boring. 

This work requires temporary lane and sidewalk closures on Trinity Drive near 20th Street scheduled as follows, weather permitting:

  • Sept. 11 westbound right lane;
  • Sept. 12 westbound right lane; and
  • Sept. 13 westbound right lane.

RTD Labor Day Holiday Closure Sept. 4

NCRTD News:

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) has announced that the RTD “Blue Buses,” with the exception of the RTD 255 Mountain Trail route to Ski Santa Fe, will not be in service Monday, Sept. 4, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

The RTD 255 Mountain Trail Route will be operating its weekend/holiday schedule, providing three roundtrips for the day.

Ultra Santa Fe Trail Race May Increase Traffic On NM 475 Saturday

SANTA FE – Visitors to the Santa Fe National Forest Saturday should be prepared for more traffic than usual on N.M. 475, the road to the Santa Fe ski basin, due to the Ultra Santa Fe races and the three-day holiday weekend.

The Ultra includes four different races that begin and end at Ski Santa Fe. The 50-miler, 50-kilometer and 13-miler all take place on single-track trails and the 1-miler is a vertical dash up the ski slope following the path of the chairlift.
