Inspection Operation Puts 17 Commercial Vehicles ‘Out Of Service’ Near Waldo

New Mexico State Police officers participated in a Weight and Inspection Operation, Aug. 1-3, near Waldo off I-25.
 
During a 72-hour period, CVSA-certified commercial motor vehicle inspectors with the New Mexico State Police conducted inspections of commercial motor vehicles and their drivers, with an emphasis on infractions that would cause them to be placed Out of Service. Over the duration of the operation, two New Mexico State Police CVSA-certified officers and four Inspectors weighed more than 1,228 vehicles, completed 59 inspections and put 17 vehicles

LAPD: Let’s Work Together To Make School Year Safe

LAPD News:

With school starting this Thursday, Aug. 17, the Los Alamos Police Department will be stepping up its presence in designated school zones throughout the communty.

While all drivers have a responsibility of adjusting their driving habits during school hours, parents of school children have a responsibility as well in keeping kids safe. Please pay attention to your speed and watch for children at cross walks.

Comcast Improving Cable Lines On Trinity Aug. 14-16

COMCAST News:

Beginning Monday, Aug. 14, Comcast will remove and replace aerial cable lines along Trinity Drive from 37th Street to Canyon View as part of a network improvement project for Los Alamos area customers.

Work will take place 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14 and 10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug.15, concluding by 5 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16 to lessen the impact on morning and evening commuters. There will be single lane closures and a flagging operation guiding traffic through the work zone.

During County Rodeo Access To Stable Area Limited

The Los Alamos Police Department would like to remind all vendors, participants, visitors and stable owners, that during the 2017 Los Alamos County Rodeo, access to the stable area is going to be restricted. 

To enter the stables or Brewer Arena, all pedestrians and vehicles must enter off of San Ildefonso Road only. As you travel closer to the arena, you will be guided to the appropriate location for parking.
