Hop On Atomic City Transit’s Free Summer Concert Bus!

Don’t forget! The DWI Planning Council is partnering with Atomic City Transit (ACT) to provide bus service on Friday nights to ensure residents get to and from the Summer Concerts at Ashley Pond Safely. This service extends the regular weekly fixed route service provided by ACT.

Service areas will include White Rock, North Mesa, and North Community. Dial-a-Ride service will be available for any location in Los Alamos not serviced via the fixed routes. State Police Issue More Than 4,500 Traffic Citations

During the Memorial Day holiday, the New Mexico State Police participated in the Combined Accident Reduction Effort (CARE) operation across all roadways within the state.
 
Operations over the holiday resulted in State Police officers issuing more than 4,500 traffic citations  (470 citations were for lack of seatbelt usage) and arresting 61 drunk drivers state wide. Two-Day Geology Tour Of Mount Taylor Region In June

The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is offering a special overnight tour June 17-18 of the Mount Taylor region. The tour will focus on the geology of the area, and is suitable for geologists and non-geologists alike. Space is limited for this trip.

Geologists Fraser and Cathy Goff will lead the tour, which includes the earth science and volcanology of Mount Taylor and surrounding areas. There are various stops along the drive to Mount Taylor on the first day, some of which will highlight rocks with interesting mineralogy and textures.  Read More

NMDOT: Statewide Click It Or Ticket Mobilization

SANTA FE – Friday, the New Mexico Department of Transportation announced that law enforcement across the state is participating in the national Click It or Ticket mobilization through June 4. The mobilization focuses on seat belt enforcement.

“Everyone who gets into a car needs to put on their seatbelt. It could save your life,” NMDOT Cabinet Secretary Tom Church said. “I am proud to support law enforcement’s efforts to keep our streets and highways safe.”

State Police To Conduct Sobriety Checks In June

New Mexico State Police are conducting Sobriety Checkpoints, Saturation Patrols and Registration, Insurance and Drivers’ License Checkpoints in all New Mexico counties during the month of June.

Blue Buses Not In Service Memorial Day

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) has announced that the RTD “Blue Buses,” with the exception of the RTD 255 Mountain Trail Line, will not be in service on Monday, May 29, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

The RTD 255 Mountain Trail Route will be operating its weekend/holiday schedule, running three roundtrips for the day. Regularly scheduled bus service throughout north central New Mexico including Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, Santa Fe and Taos Counties will resume on Tuesday, May 30.
