As 2027 approaches, Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails is preparing to celebrate a remarkable milestone: 110 years of Girl Scouting in New Mexico. The very first Girl Scout troop in our state began in Santa Fe in 1917, launching generations of leadership, service, friendship, and adventure for girls across New Mexico.

Gartz Has Perfect Prediction In Weekly Pace Race

Eddie Gartz had a perfect prediction in the weekly pace race held in Overlook Park in White Rock.  He predicted a time of 7:40 for his finish time. Other accurate predictors were Eliverio Acosta at 2 seconds off; Deana Tsang recording a 4 second differential; Adrian Medin at 5 seconds off; and Catherine Hensley with a 10 second difference.

On the 1-mile road course Lynn Bjorklund was the best finisher at 8:02 and Ted Romero was the first male with a time of 8:59.

Los Alamos High School Sports Lit teacher Lori Thompson organized a fun day of Greek Olympics activities at Urban Park Monday. The students from Lori Thompson’s class taught and ran the activities and the 6th grade class from Mountain School were the participants. There were 5 activities for the participants to rotate through. And a thank you to the LAPS Foundation and the Mountain PTO for their generosity, making this annual event possible. Atomic City Transit Extending Service To Summer Concerts Beginning Friday

The community is invited to ride Atomic City Transit to the Los Alamos Summer Concerts at Ashley Pond all summer.

The 2026 summer concert bus schedule extends service on three fixed routes to allow concert goers to leave their car at home and avoid parking hassles or a long walk to Ashley Pond.

The special bus service hours begin on Friday, May 22, and run through Aug. 28.
