DCA To Host Lunar New Year Celebrations Feb. 4

DCA News:

The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) hosts Lunar New Year 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4 at Museum of International Folk Art. 

Celebrate the Year of the Dragon and Asian New Year traditions. Free admission for NM residents all day.

The theme will be the ‘Asian Lunar New Year’. The hands-on art activity will be making printed cards and origami.

Enjoy Monthly Dinner And Movie While Helping LAFC

LAFC News:

The community is invited to Los Alamos Family Council’s (LAFC) first monthly dinner and a movie fundraiser Tuesday, Feb. 13. The event includes frito pie and a movie at SALA Event Center.

Every month on the Second Tuesday of the month, LAFC will host this dinner and a movie fundraiser. Proceeds will support the programs at the Counseling Center and Youth Activity Centers.

Make the Second Tuesday Movie Night a monthly night on the town!

High Desert Winds (HDW) Santa Fe will present its second concert of the 2023-24 Season at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, at the St. Francis Auditorium in the New Mexico Museum of Art, 107 W. Palace Ave., in Santa Fe.

Under the baton of Dr. Jan Gaynor, the performance will celebrate New Mexico and the southwest with music by Morton Gould, Robert Sheldon, Roland Barrett and John Mackey.

Also featured will be the premiere of Jordan Grigg’s “Land of Hope and Beauty, a musical history of New Mexico”
