Cosmic Frontiers: Stephen Hawking & The Universe April 27-28, 2024

The New Mexico Consortium is hosting Cosmic Frontiers: Stephen Hawking & The Universe, a two-day event April 27-28, 2024 centered around scientist Stephen Hawking.

The event, the first in a planned yearly ‘Cosmic Frontiers’ series, brings together eminent cosmologists and astrophysicists who worked with or were mentored by Professor Stephen Hawking. There will be a screening of the 1992 Sundance Grand Jury award winning theatrical documentary, A Brief History of Time, based on Hawking’s best-selling book of the same name.

County Seeks Community Input For White Rock Skate Park Improvement Project To Replace Modular Elements

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD) has begun the project to replace the modular elements for the White Rock Skate Park (99 Sherwood Blvd., in White Rock). American Ramp Company (ARC), in partnership with CSD, is seeking the community’s input on the design and type of modular elements to install.  

The County Council approved the White Rock Skate Park improvement project as part of the Capital Improvement Project budget for 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and staffing and supply shortages, the project was delayed. ARC was selected by CSD in February 2023 Read More
