BELC To Host Day Camp For Youth July 28-Aug.1

BELC News:

Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church (BELC) will host a week-long Day Camp for youth, Monday, July 28 to Friday, Aug. 1.

Designed for children entering Pre-K through 5th grade (in the fall), this camp is “a joyful and faith-filled experience”.

Youth entering 6th grade are invited to participate as junior counselors.

This year’s camp theme is “Cross Fit” – a fun play on fitness culture, with a spiritual twist.

Campers will explore Christian principles like commitment, community, overcoming plateaus, and transformation, all rooted in Scripture.

The Adobe Theater presents Tennessee Williams’ SMALL CRAFT WARNINGS Aug. 1–17. An expansion of Tennessee Williams’s earlier one-act play, “Confessional”, Small Craft Warnings centers on a motley group of people gathered in a seedy coastal bar in Southern California. It is a kaleidoscopic pastiche of monologues delivered in a spotlight by each of the characters as the action around them becomes frozen and muted. Through them they reveal their loneliness and the emptiness of their existence.

Chess Club At Mesa Public Library Launches July 1

LIBRARY News:

The community is invited to join a group of chess friends, 6-7:30 p.m. every Tuesday in Meeting Room 2/3 at Mesa Public Library.

All levels are welcome to drop in and play. For beginners, find experienced chess players available to help you learn and practice.

For experienced players, come to find a community of people who share your passion for the game.
