Update: Alamogordo Police Have Located Missing 11-Year-Old Runaway Maria Cereceres

Update: Alamogordo Police Department just announced Maria Cereceres has been found and is safe.

NMSP News:

ALAMOGORDO — The Alamogordo Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Maria Cereceres, 11.

Cereceres is 5 feet, 2 inches tall, 90 lbs., with brown eyes and brown hair.

She was last seen at approximately 9:30 p.m. Dec. 11, 2023 at her residence in Alamogordo.

Cereceres was wearing blue jeans, a grey T-shirt, and a pink hoodie. Her direction of travel is unknown.

NMSP Investigates Officer Involved Shooting In Gallup

GALLUP — Dec. 10, 2023, the New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau was requested to investigate an officer-involved shooting involving the Gallup Police Department (GPD).

Investigations Bureau agents learned that at around 9:30 p.m., a GPD officer was called to a disturbance at 200 Western Skies Road. A 21-year-old male from Gallup, was asked to leave the residence and refused to do so. As the GPD officer approached the male suspect, the male walked back to a silver Toyota Camry, opened the door to the vehicle, and a handgun fell to the ground.

FBI: Mescalero Man Charged With Domestic Assault

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Albuquerque Field Office, announced that Theodore Ian Chavez, IV appeared in federal court on an indictment charging him with assault of an intimate partner by strangling and assault of an intimate partner resulting in substantial bodily injury.

FBI: 18-Year-Old Pleads Guilty To Carjacking, Firearms

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, announced Nov. 14, that Malachi Alan Crockett pled guilty to three counts of carjacking and aiding and abetting and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. New Mexico State Police And Commercial Motor Vehicle Strike Team Conduct CMV Operation Along Interstate 10 Corridor

NMSP News:

Dec. 7, 2023, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., New Mexico State Police officers in Districts 4 and 12, alongside the Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Strike Team conducted an operation targeting CMV left lane usage along the Interstate 10 Corridor from the Arizona to Texas border.

During the operation, New Mexico State Police officers conducted 38 CMV inspections, issued 19 CMV left lane usage citations, 1 distracted driver citation and 13 speeding citations. Four CMV drivers were placed out of service.
