FBI: Arizona Man Gets 30 Years In Prison For Shooting New Mexico State Police Officer

ALBUQUERQUE — An Arizona man was sentenced to 30 years behind bars for attempted murder of a New Mexico State Police (NMSP) officer.

Sept. 12, 2020, a truck driven by Robert Nelson, 31, of Scottsdale, Ariz. was pulled over by NMSP Sgt. Sharron Duran for a traffic infraction outside the Laguna Pueblo.

New Mexico State Police Release Second Update Of Ongoing Proactive Operations In Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQE – Last month the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) began a series of proactive operations in the Albuquerque area. Officers were tasked by New Mexico State Police Chief Troy Weisler with focusing their efforts on apprehending wanted violent felons and suppressing violent crime in the Albuquerque area.

Los Alamos Police Hold 2023 Fall DEA Drug Take Back Day

The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) will be conducting its biannual DEA Drug Take Back Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

The drop off location will be in the north parking lot (off Central Avenue) of the Los Alamos Police Department.

Items that have not been accepted in the past include: Needles/sharps, any liquids or creams, and aerosols/compressed medications. FBI: Woman Pleads Guilty To Involuntary Manslaughter

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, announced that Leticia Ashley pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Ashley, 38, of Navajo, and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, will remain under supervision pending sentencing, which has not been scheduled.

ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Albuquerque Field Office, announced that Vance Andres Raymond was sentenced to 6 months.

Raymond, 27, of Albuquerque, and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, pled guilty in federal court Aug. 17, 2021, to one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury in Indian Country.
