New Mexico State Police Dispatch Receives Hit From License Plate Reader On Stolen U-Haul, Officers Arrest Tucson Man

NMSP News:

LORDSBURG — Using the Automatic License Plate Recognition system (ALPR), New Mexico State Police (NMSP) were able to locate and arrest an individual driving a stolen U-Haul truck, which also contained a stolen motorcycle.

At approximately 7:45 a.m. Nov. 21, 2024, NMSP dispatch received a hit from the LPR system on a stolen 2017 U-haul truck out of Tucson, Ariz. The truck was seen traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 near mile marker 22.

NMSP: One Young Man Killed And Another Injured At House Party In Northern New Mexico

NMSP News:

MYERS — Nov. 16, 2024, New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau Agents were called to 1096 County Road B27 in Myers, NM to investigate a homicide.

Agents learned that around 11 p.m., Nov. 15, 2024, a call came into 911 advising of a male shot in the chest.

Gabriel Rivera, 23, and Jeremiah Salazar, 18, were attending a party at the residence when they got into a verbal dispute which turned physical. At some point, Salazar brandished a handgun and shot Rivera.

A bystander not involved in the initial altercation was also shot. After the shooting, Salazar fled the scene.

New Mexico State Police Rescue Five Kidnapped Children After License Plate Reader Locates Vehicle

DEMING — Using the Automatic License Plate Recognition system, New Mexico State Police (NMSP) were able to arrest a mother who had kidnapped her children from Texas and fled the state.

Nov. 16 at approximately 2:15 p.m., NMSP uniform officers from Deming were given information about five missing endangered children taken by their biological mother from Texas and had fled the state.

A Be On The Lookout (BOLO) was given for a black SAAB sedan with Texas plates.

FBI: U.S. Attorney’s Office Secures Guilty Plea Against Pueblo Pintado Man In Fatal Navajo Nation Shooting Case

ALBUQUERQUE — A Pueblo Pintado man pleaded guilty in federal court to two charges stemming from a fatal shooting incident that occurred on the Navajo Nation in 2022.

According to the plea agreement, May 16, 2022, Rodgerick Tsosie, 31, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, aimed a firearm at an individual seated in the front passenger seat of a moving vehicle during a family altercation.

Tsosie discharged the weapon, but the bullet missed its intended target and instead struck another person in the backseat, resulting in that individual’s death.

COUNTY News:

During inclement weather, individuals stranded or otherwise facing the elements may need a safe place to stay warm. Los Alamos County Social Services division has identified several locations where individuals can temporarily seek shelter to warm up.

While these sites may not offer full amenities such as restrooms, they provide a safe environment to avoid the elements.
