For several years the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish had periodically throughout the season made stockings of bigger-than average rainbow trout in many of the state’s trout lakes and ponds.

Averaging between 15-20 inches long, these larger fish are a welcome addition for anglers used to catching 9-12 inch catchable-size rainbow trout

Swim Lessons For All Ages At Los Alamos Aquatic Center

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos County Aquatic Center has announced that swim lessons are being offered by two contractors, 505 Swimming LLC from Santa Fe and Anna Zhang from Los Alamos. Both contractors will be providing group and individual lessons for various ages and skill levels.

Sandia Peak Ski Area Opening 100% Of Terrain Today

ALBUQUERQUE — Sandia Peak Ski Area is opening 100% of its terrain starting this morning, Feb. 10. This marks the first time the ski area has been open since 2022.

Beginning at 9 a.m. today, Lift 3 will provide access to top-to-bottom skiing across 300 skiable acres on all 35 trails. Resort officials say they’re expanding the ski area’s operating hours to be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Fridays through Sundays and Presidents’ Day Monday, Feb. 19.
