Hilltopper Marching Band Performs At Friday’s Game

The Los Alamos High School Hilltopper Marching Band performed Friday night at Sullivan Field for the LAHS football game against Santa Fe. Aspen Elementary School band members were invited to the event. The Toppers lost Friday’s home non-conference game against Santa Fe by a score of 50-0. Laura McClellan Best Predictor In Tuesday’s Pace Race

ACRR News:

Thirty-two runners and walkers enjoyed a beautiful evening jaunt on one mile or three mile courses on Barranca Mesa and in Bayo Canyon.

Laura McClellan was the best predictor for the long course, on which runners ran around Barranca Mesa Elementary School and then down the horse trail into Bayo Canyon to the point and back Gonzales Road to Barranca School. She was off her prediction by just 8 seconds over the three miles.

Los Alamos High School NJROTC unit hosted Albuquerque’s La Cueva High School and Farmington’s Piedra Vista High School for the Northern New Mexico Tri-Meet for marksmanship Saturday.

Some 23 cadets competed in the event and participated in an informal orienteering activity.

Eighth Grade Girls And Boys Cross Country Teams Win First At Albuquerque Academy Invitational

The 8th grade girls and boys cross country teams each won first place at Wednesday’s Albuquerque Academy Invitational.

The girls team placed their top five runners in the top 11 overall to beat out Desert Ridge Middle School, and the boys team took the top five spots overall for their second consecutive perfect score.

Ted Romero Best Predictor In This Week’s Pace Race

Ted Romero was only 2 seconds off his predicted time and was the top finisher with a time of 19:50 on the 3-mile course in the weekly pace race held on North Mesa. 

David Kratzer recorded a 3-second error. Jennifer Reglien had an 18 second differential, followed by Burton Krohn at 30 seconds off.

On the 1-mile course, Rao Garimella was the fastest finisher. The top female was Lauraine Maness. The fastest female finisher on the 3-mile course was Nikol Strother with a time of 20:02.
