Los Alamos Golf Is Closed For Season But Golf Shop Offers Winter Hours And Holiday Sale

COUNTY News:

As the colder months approach, the Los Alamos Golf Course will be closed for the season starting Dec. 9. However, the golf shop will remain open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, allowing visitors to purchase merchandise or handle any golf-related needs. The golf shop will be closed on weekends.

In addition, the golf shop will host its annual Holiday Sale on Dec. 7, offering great deals on golf gear and merchandise, just in time for holiday shopping.

Topper Girls Basketball Wins Season Opener 42-30 In Santa Fe

The Topper Girls Basketball team traveled to Santa Fe to play the Lady Horsemen in a nonconference game in the St Michaels Perez-Shelley Gymnasium Nov. 26. The Toppers won the contest 41-30. Los Alamos Aquatic Center Closed For Swim Meet Dec. 7

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos Aquatic Center will be closed to the public Saturday, Dec. 7 to host the Bill Hudson Memorial Meet.

The closure will affect the Main pool, Therapy pool and Leisure Lagoon, as the center dedicates its facilities to supporting youth swimming in New Mexico.

The Aquatic Center will resume regular hours Monday, Dec. 9.

High elevation lakes will likely soon freeze over and be hard to access due to snow. Lakes that usually freeze over and offer ice fishing include Eagle Nest, Lake Maloya, Lake Alice, Fenton Lake and sometimes Heron Lake. This usually happens in December.

This time of year it’s always a good idea to call ahead to check on conditions.

Navajo Lake does not freeze over and remains open all winter. The San Juan River below Navajo Dam has excellent winter fishing and a little bit more elbow room during this time of year.
