SANTA TERESA — Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham joined Burrell Aviation and Doña Ana County officials Friday to announce a new $72-million cargo aviation facility at the Doña Ana County Jetport.

The governor and Burrell Aviation CEO John Carver announced that Burrell Aviation will construct multiple new structures designed to expand cargo and distribution services, including facilities dedicated to air cargo handling, cold storage, distribution, and aircraft maintenance.

The new facility is expected to create up to 1,300 jobs.

SANTA FE — National Teen Driver Safety Week is Oct. 16-22, 2022. The campaign promotes the significance of open communication with teens about the important rules they need to follow to stay safe behind the wheel.

Atomic City Transit Route 1 & 6 Peak Service To Resume Monday; 3 & Peak 2 Remain Suspended

Atomic City Transit announces Route 1 and Route 6 Peak service will return Monday, Oct. 17.

Route 3 service will remain suspended until construction is complete and Canyon Road is serviceable. Route 3 passengers are encouraged to utilize Route 1 on Central Avenue.

Route 2 Peak will remain suspended due to staffing issues.

County DPU To Replace Sewer Lines On Sombrillo Court

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) is starting a sewer line replacement project on Sombrillo Court with excavation to begin Monday.

DPU’s contractor is currently potholing there to locate existing sewer lines in preparation for the project.

Starting Monday, the entrance to Sombrillo Nursing & Rehabilitation Center will be narrowed while installing a new manhole in the area. FTA Tribal Transit Program Awards $400,000 To Three Northern New Mexico Native Tribes

RTD News:

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has awarded three northern New Mexico native tribes $400,000 in grant money for projects that support transit services for American Indian Tribes and Alaska Native villages in rural areas.

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) submitted grant requests on behalf of Santa Clara Pueblo, which was awarded $140,000, Pueblo of Tesuque which will receive $140,000, and Jicarilla Apache Nation which will receive a total of $120,000.
