County: 2022 Bandelier Shuttle Season Has Ended

Atomic City Transit (ACT) announced that today is the ACT Shuttle’s last day of operation to Bandelier National Park for the 2022 season.

Starting Thursday, Oct. 13, vehicles will be allowed to drive into the park while visiting. Bandelier National Park Visitor Center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

ACT regular service will continue as published.

Iris Street Water Work To Continue Tuesday

Gas, Water, and Sewer crews from the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) will be returning to Iris St. Tuesday to work on a water line replacement.

Drivers should expect to see traffic controls in place 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. while work is underway.

NCRTD Closed Oct. 10 In Observance Of Indigenous Peoples’ Day

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) has announced that the RTD Blue Buses will not be in service Monday, Oct. 10, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Public Meeting On Atomic City Transit Plan Oct. 6, 2022

As part of the monthly Los Alamos County Transportation Board meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, board members will hear a presentation on the Atomic City Transit (ACT) Plan under development.

Additionally, board members and transit staff welcome public feedback on the project and encourage the public to join the virtual meeting.

The Los Alamos County Transportation Board is hosting a public zoom meeting in conjunction with the monthly board meeting 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6 to discuss the Atomic City Transit (ATC) Plan.

The Plan includes potential improvements to the transit system over the next five years. Los Alamos County has retained LSC Transportation Consultants, Inc., to prepare a 2022 Short-Range Transit Plan for ACT that will span the next five years.
