The Los Alamos County Atomic City Transit (ACT) will be closed Monday, Oct. 10, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Regular Atomic City Transit service will resume Tuesday, Oct 11.

ACT will operate a shuttle every 20 minutes between White Rock and Bandelier, Saturday, Oct. 8 through Monday, Oct 10.

Atomic City Transit Route 3 Service Suspension Continues

Atomic City Transit (ACT) will continue its suspension of Route 3 transit service until the completion of Canyon Road construction.

While ACT officials initially believed services could be reinstated by Monday, Oct. 3, transit operator vacancies continue to affect operations. 

Transit staff strategically decided to continue the suspension of Route 3 after concluding that this Route had the least impact on ridership since Route 1 could accommodate these same riders with thirty (30) minute service.

New Mexico State Police (NMSP) will be conducting sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols; and registration, insurance, and driver’s license checkpoints in all New Mexico counties during the month of October 2022.

NMDOT is bringing awareness to these events to reduce impaired driving-related fatalities through continued media attention and intensive advertising.

These checkpoints are helping to change society’s attitude about driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs.

SANTA FE — Sept. 18-24 is National Child Passenger Safety Awareness Week. The campaign focuses on the importance of properly securing children in an appropriate car or booster seat.
